Outpatient Specialist Clinic Hours & Patient Visiting Hours

    Kedah Medical Centre Outpatient Specialist Clinics are for those patients, who do not require emergency care and patients are stable with non-acute healthcare problem and illnesses. Appointment times are given but clinics mostly are run on first-come-first-serve basis every day.

Emergency medical services are available at the Accident & Emergency Services 24 hours.


We welcome your families, friends, and loved ones to visit you during your stay in the hospital. However, for safety reason, access to the hospital may also be limited to certain hours. Kindly advise your visitors to observe and adhere to the above visiting hours and regulations.


We encourage visitors to be mindful of the patient's need for proper rest.

☛ Children under 12 years of age are discouraged to visit the patients.

☛ Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times when in the hospital premise.

☛ No visitors are allowed after 10:00pm.

☛ Only two visitors per patient are allowed to visit at a time in the ICU/HDU Ward.


Security for Your Belongings

During your stay with us, it is advisable not to bring or keep valuables. You are advised to send your valuables home with a family member. If that is not immediately possible, valuables may be kept temporarily in the hospital safe until someone can take them home for you. The hospital will not be responsible for any loss of valuables such as cash, jewelry, mobile phone, or any damages to your personal items while in our premise.



Paediatric Patient's Rights & Family Responsibilities

Paediatric patient's rights:

  1. Respect for:

☛ Each child and adolescent as a unique individual.

☛ The care-taking role and individual response of parent.


2. Provision for normal physical and physiological needs of a growing child to include nutrition, rest, sleep, warmth, activity and freedom to move and explore.


3. Consistent, supportive and nurturing care which:

☛ Addresses the psychosocial needs of the child.

☛ Foster open communication.

☛ Encourage human relationship.


4. Provision for self-esteem needs which will be met by attempts to give the child:

☛ The reassuring presence of a caring person, especially a parent.

☛ Freedom to express feelings of fears appropriately.

☛ Opportunities to work through experience before and after the incident, verbally, in play or in other appropriately ways.

☛ Recognition and reward for coping well during difficult situations.


5. Provision for varied and normal stimuli of life which contribute to cognitive, social, emotional and physical developmental needs as play, educational and social activities essential all children and adolescents.


6. Information about what to expect prior to/ during and following procedure/ experience and support in coping with it.


7. Participation of children / families in decisions affecting their own medical treatment. The involvement of significant other / guardian as appropriate , in the assessment, treatment continuing care of the patient.


8. Minimization of hospital stays duration.


9. Assessment and management of pain.


10. Right to request for second medical opinion.


Family responsibilities:

☛ Continuing their parenting role to the extent of their ability.

☛ Being available to participate in decision-making and providing staff with knowledge of parents / family whereabouts.
